The Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, which covers all 50 states, allows you to donate all organs, specific organs, or your entire body for medical research.
Organ and tissue donations. Organs you can donate include the heart, kidneys, pancreas, lungs, liver and intestines. You also can donate tissues such as eyes, skin, bone, heart valves and tendons.
Entire body donation. A separate option is to donate the entire body to a medical school or research facility that will use the body to gain understanding of diseases. However, you cannot donate your body if you wish to be an organ or tissue donor, even if you donate only one organ. If you do wish to donate your entire body, contact the facility of your choice directly to make arrangements.
