Say the word earthquake and most people immediately think of California. But did you know that earthquakes can happen almost anywhere in the United States? According to the U.S. Geological Survey, they occur most frequently west of the Rocky Mountains, but there are dozens of states located around the country where an earthquake could happen at any time, without warning.* Most Californians are well-informed and prepared for earthquakes, while people in the rest of the country tend to overlook their potential danger. It's important to find out if you live in or near an earthquake danger zone and, if so, learn how to protect your family and home.
