Fitch Ratings
Fitch Ratings (“Fitch”) insurer financial strength ratings range from “AAA (exceptionally strong)” to “D (distressed).” A “+” or “—” may be appended to ratings from “AA” to “CCC” to indicate relative position within a category. A rating of “AA” is in the “very strong” category.
Fitch long-term credit ratings range from “AAA (highest credit quality),” to “D (default).”
A “+” or “—” may be appended to ratings from “AA” to “CCC” to indicate relative position within a category. Ratings of “A” and "BBB" are in the “high” and "good" categories, respectively.
Fitch short-term credit ratings range from “F1+ (exceptionally strong credit quality)” to “D (in default).” A Rating of “F1” is in the “highest credit quality” category.
