Biography

John M. Keane, age 65, is the co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Keane Advisors, LLC, a private equity investment and consulting firm, President of GSI, LLC, an independent consulting firm, Senior Advisor to Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts and Co., a private equity firm specializing in management buyouts, and an Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of URS Corporation, a global engineering design firm. General Keane served in the U.S. Army for 37 years. He was Vice Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer of the Army from 1999 until his retirement in October 2003. He is a Director of General Dynamics Corporation. He also is a military contributor and analyst with ABC News and is a member of the United States Department of Defense Policy Board.  He also serves on the Boards of the Knollwood Foundation, the Pentagon Memorial Fund, the Army Heritage Foundation, the George C. Marshall Foundation and the Terry C. Maude Foundation. General Keane received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fordham University and a master’s degree in philosophy from Western Kentucky University. General Keane has received honorary doctorate degrees in law and public service from Fordham University and Eastern Kentucky University, respectively. General Keane has been a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since 2003.
