Diversity: Part of Who We Are
Financial Fellowship Program

MetLife is its people.  And our sales force is as diverse as the millions of clients we serve.

Through our Financial Services Representatives, we provide clients in local areas with products and services to help build their financial freedom.  In order to serve those in our communities, we must become part of them.  MetLife is committed to inclusion throughout our company, particularly within our sales force which serves as the connection between the company and the community.

Multicultural markets represent the fastest-growing segment in the U.S., and a growing customer base for MetLife.  Our focus has led to approaches that respect the unique cultures and experiences of individuals.

MetLife's Agency Distribution Group has advisory councils that work to increase field force representation and outreach in the African-American, Asian Pacific American, and Hispanic markets.  Focus-firm agencies are dedicated to developing key, diverse markets.

MetLife produces in-language and culturally appropriate materials, including Web sites, annual reviews, seminars and brochures, to reach its customers.  MetLife Dental, for example, is involved in developing and publishing health-history forms in 40 languages to help dentists and patients with language barriers communicate.

Multicultural and diversity advertising, along with public relations, has extended our brand into multicultural communities even further.  We're especially proud of our recent, award-winning Bollywood-style South Asian ad campaign.

Multi-lingual service representatives enhance our customers' experience.  Together with customer service centers, nearly 40 MetLife offices provide access to an external language line that offers real-time translation services for over 200 languages and dialects.

MetLife is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse working environment—in management and throughout the organization.  We have established Advisory Councils to help provide leadership within the diverse MetLife sales organization.  These include:

  • African American Advisory Council
  • Chinese Advisory Council
  • Hispanic Advisory Council
  • South Asian Advisory Council
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transsexual Advisory Council
