From partnering with Sports Illustrated and The New York Times to capture impressive overhead shots, the MetLife blimps are no strangers to the skies of the United States.
Since its conception in 1987, the goal of the MetLife Blimp program has been to increase awareness of the company. Focusing on providing aerial coverage of high profile events, "Snoopy One," "Snoopy Two," and sometimes "Snoopy Three" cover over 60 events annually for NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN and TGC.
Unique Blimp Opportunities
In between its aerial television coverage, MetLife provides blimp-related support for local events and groups, such as those for schools, community-based groups and non-profit organizations. Media visits are also available. A description of the opportunities is included below.
Those parties interested in arranging any of the unique activities involving the Blimp are required to complete the Blimp Event Request Form (2 Pages). Please complete the form and return it as an attachment via email to MetLifeBlimpOperations@metlife.com. Your request will be reviewed, and you will be contacted if it is possible to accommodate the request around the other events already scheduled.
1. Media Access
Schedule a meeting to interview our pilots and experience the blilmp operations up-close. Tell a unique story about the "blimp life" and the one of a kind perspective the blimps provide to the events they cover.
2. Fly-Overs
A fly-over is the scheduled appearance of the blimp at a designated location, event or function. Fly-overs can be arranged over buildings, events, golf-outings, festivals and a variety of other outside social activities.
3. On-Site Airport Visits
Groups can arrange to visit the blimps at the airport. This allows the public to see the blimp up-close and in person. Visitors have the opportunity to take pictures, speak with the pilots and sit in the gondola. Please note that this option may not be available in all areas depending on the local airport's security restrictions.
