1. Can I ride in the blimp?

No. Due to scheduling complications, it is not standard practice for the Metlife Program to offer blimp rides.

5. Can I go to the airport and see the blimp on my own?¹

No. Security at the airports will not permit people access to the blimp.  A request must be submitted and approved by MetLife for an on-site airport visit via the Blimp Event Request Form.  Please complete the form and return to the person indicated on the form.  Traditionally, airport visits are limited to schools, camps and special educational programs interested in learning more about how the blimp works.

6. Is there a cost associated with a visit or fly over?

There is no cost associated with a visit or fly over, but please provide a clear explanation of the event or program taking place.

7. What happens if my visit or fly over is cancelled due to weather or a schedule change?

Due to weather and operational issues, the blimp schedule is always subject to change. If the visit or fly over is cancelled, we'll do our best to reschedule, but we can not guarantee that the blimp schedule will permit.

8. Is it difficult to have a blimp make an appearance?¹

Blimp appearance requests depend on the television schedule. Appearances will be determined by the schedule, location, weather and time of year.

9. How far in advance can I make a request?

Requests can be made at anytime. If the blimp television schedule is not confirmed for the time of your request, the request will be held on file.

10. Can the blimp fly anywhere?

'Snoopy One' spends most of the year in the South, Northeast and Midwest. It spends the winter in Florida. 'Snoopy Two' spends the summer in the Northeast and Midwest, but the winter in California, Arizona and Nevada. Due to high altitudes and challenging terrain, the blimps do not fly in the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain area, Alaska or Hawaii.

11. What does an airport visit consist of?

Visitors will have the chance to see the blimp up-close.  They will also have the opportunity to take pictures, ask the pilot and crew members questions and sit in the gondola.

12. How long can the blimp be in the air for a fly over?

Depending on the event, the blimp will spend 1 - 3 hours at a fly over.

13. Where does the blimp stay?

The MetLife Blimps do not have a home base.  The blimps stay at airports close to the sporting or special events which they're covering.

The blimps typically stay in one area throught the duration of an event.

No.  MetLife’s Blimps do not have an electronic sign.

19. How many people can attend an airport visit?

There is a maximum of 40 guests allowed per blimp visit. Groups larger than 40 will be divided into multiple visits.

20. How many blimps does MetLife have?

MetLife leases two blimps – 'Snoopy One' and 'Snoopy Two'. For August - October 2007, 'Snoopy Three' was added in honor of the program's 20th Anniversary.
