IMPORTANT FLOOD INFORMATION FOR METLIFE AUTO & HOME CUSTOMERS IN IOWA, ILLINOIS, AND INDIANA

Warwick, RI—June 27, 2008—Due to flooding in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, MetLife Auto & Home is providing maximum consideration to impacted customers, including but not limited to those residing in the counties listed below.

Many customers have been displaced from their homes, making it difficult to collect mail or pay bills on time. As a result, MetLife Auto & Home has put into action the following special considerations:

• A moratorium has been placed on cancellations and non-renewals from June 10, 2008 until August 18, 2008. This moratorium also applies to nonpayment cancellations. Bill holds are being placed on all policies for impacted customers.
• If a policy was cancelled or non-renewed on or after June 10, 2008, it will be reinstated without a lapse in coverage.
• Insurance related time-period extensions have been implemented for all required documentation requests. MetLife Auto & Home has implemented a sixty-day grace period for all required documentation, beginning the day the documentation was due.
• If any coverages are adjusted or any discounts are removed due to failure to provide proper documentation, upon notification or knowledge of the change, MetLife Auto & Home will restore the coverages and discounts. Appropriate documentation may be required after the sixty-day grace period has expired.
• MetLife Auto & Home has communicated this information to all appropriate staff members.

In addition, MetLife Auto & Home customers who sustain damage from flooding and have flood insurance can report their losses by calling 1-800-759-8656.

For customers who have lost personal documentation as a result of flooding, MetLife Auto & Home is providing access to a personal advocate to replace these documents, along with assistance in re-establishing relationships with financial institutions. MetLife Auto & Home customers can obtain this assistance by calling the company’s dedicated 24-hour claim number at 1-800-854-6011.
