Advertising is an important mechanism for bringing the brand to life. The “if” campaign is designed to cut through the clutter of other financial services advertising, deliver a clear message and motivate consumers to action. Based upon the research, "if" addresses the financial burden shift and conveys MetLife as a trusted partner who understands the issues and can provide consumers with solutions — a personal guaranteed safety net for the ifs in life.

Advertising for 2009 will initially feature the MetLife Life Insurance Selector Tool found only on www.metlife.com. Other ads will rotate into the mix throughout 2009 to keep the MetLife brand fresh and relevant in the minds of consumers.
