On May 1, 2006, the name of The Travelers Life and Annuity Company was changed to MetLife Life and Annuity Company of Connecticut and the name of The Travelers Insurance Company was changed to MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut. On December 7, 2007, MetLife Life and Annuity Company of Connecticut (MLAC) merged into MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut (MIC). As a result, MLAC is no longer a separate insurance company, and all MLAC obligations have become obligations of MIC.
