MetLife’s Group Term Life insurance is a core part of a robust benefits package, providing essential protection to employees.

Term Life provides a work-based Group Life insurance foundation that offers employees and their dependents cost-effective financial protection in their time of need.

Basic Term Life

A core employer-paid benefit that helps meet a portion of a family’s income needs in the event of a premature death — it offers flexible options to choose from, including flat benefit amounts or multiples of pay.

Supplemental Term Life

Additional employee-paid benefit that offers flexible plan designs and innovative tools to help employees select the right amount of life insurance to meet their needs.

Dependent Term Life

Group Term Life insurance for spouses, domestic partners and eligible children that employees can purchase at group rates.

Add Value with Plan Enhancements

From assistance for beneficiaries, to “living benefits” that your employees can take advantage of today, MetLife’s value-added features and can enhancements enrich an employer’s Group Life program—without impacting the employer’s bottom line.

 

The portability feature allows employees to continue their Term Life insurance coverage at group rates, avoiding a gap in coverage when their employment ends.

 

 

Help your employees protect their assets and secure their families’ financial future by giving them access to a network of over 10,000 participating Hyatt Legal Plans attorneys who provide services associated with for preparing or updating wills. Legal fees are fully covered when using a participating attorney. This benefit is available to companies with 500+ active employees and retirees participating in MetLife’s Supplemental Life Insurance.

 

 

This option allows a terminally ill insured to receive a portion of his or her life insurance in advance to minimize the financial burden of medical and other expenses — up to 80% of the total insured amount.

 

 

Provides beneficiaries who are also the executors of the deceased’s estate with personal legal representation from a participating Hyatt Legal Plans attorney, to distribute the deceased’s assets and complete probate. Services offered to the executor at no additional cost include telephone and office consultations, preparation of documents for court proceedings and completion of correspondence necessary to transfer non-probate assets.

 

 

The TCA is a life settlement option for Group Life claims of $5,000 or more that helps beneficiaries manage life insurance proceeds and provides easy access to their funds. The money in the TCA, plus any interest earned, is fully guaranteed by MetLife.

 

 

This program provides professional and caring services for beneficiaries who have financial questions and a personal need for assistance and information.

 

 

Disabled employees may have their life insurance premiums waived while they are unable to work. This waiver allows covered employees to receive death benefit coverage after their life insurance coverage would otherwise end.

 

Like most group life insurance policies, MetLife group policies contain certain exclusions, limitations, and reductions of benefits and terms for keeping them in force. Please contact us for costs and complete details.

Will Preparation services and MetLife Estate Resolution Services are subject to regulatory approval and are not available in all states. In certain states, Estate Resolution Services cannot be made available to residents without that state’s approval. MetLife Estate Resolution Services is available for customers with over 500 eligible employees, subject to state approval and regulation.

3 The Accelerated Benefits Option (ABO) is subject to state regulation and generally receives favorable federal income tax treatment. You are advised to consult with an independent tax advisor about your own circumstances. You are advised to consult with a legal advisor concerning the effect that receipt of ABO benefits will have on other benefits such as benefits from public assistance programs.
