Business Travel Accident Insurance

MetLife’s Business Travel Accident Insurance1 protects employees when traveling on company business.

MetLife’s Business Travel Accident Insurance (BTA) is employer-paid coverage that pays an additional benefit for covered accidents resulting in death or serious injury of employees who are traveling on company business, both domestically and internationally.

 

MetLife will work with you to create a customized plan from our flexible plan designs and benefit amounts. BTA enhances your benefits package and includes the following options:

  • 24-hour coverage for a broad array of incidents
  • Ability to cover employees, guests and non-employees2 (e.g., members of your Board of Directors)
  • Coverage for owned or leased aircraft, scheduled airline travel and relocation travel
  • Additional benefits for seat belt and air bag usage and child care
 

 

For added convenience, many employers consolidate all of their coverages—Life Insurance, AD&D and BTA—with MetLife.

 

 

Travel Assistance is an additional option available with BTA that offers employees and their families access to valuable services when traveling more than 100 miles from home (domestic or international). Services include:

  • Toll-free 800#, where service providers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Emergency services, including medical assistance, hospital admission coordination and critical evacuation
  • Non-emergency services, such as help with visa and/or passport requirements, financial assistance and locating lost luggage
 

 

Identity Theft Solutions educates employees on preventing an identity theft occurrence. It also provides personal assistance and guidance to help alleviate the stress and time burden that victims often face.

Employees are provided with:

  • Education, including the Identity Theft Risk & Prevention tool kit and resolution guide
  • Personal Guidance, including advice for filing and obtaining police and credit reports, contacting creditor fraud departments and taking inventory of lost or stolen items
  • Toll-free 800#, where service providers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Employees don’t have to be traveling to use the Identity Theft Solutions benefit—it is accessible whether they are home or away.

 

1 Coverage is available for companies with at least 200 eligible lives and $1,000 in "annual" premium.
