Mark H. Wilsmann is Managing Director and head of real estate portfolio management at MetLife. In this role, he is responsible for managing the company's $46 billion real estate portfolio, including overseeing MetLife’s commercial mortgage product line, strategy, pricing, and origination activities via 12 regional offices. He is also responsible for managing the company's equity real estate portfolio, including strategy, asset management, dispositions and development/acquisitions. He also chairs the firm’s mortgage investment committee. Under Mr. Wilsmann’s leadership, MetLife has become established as the largest life company portfolio lender, with annual transaction volume of over $9 billion.
During Mr. Wilsmann’s 15-year career with MetLife, he has served in various capacities within the real estate group in Charlotte, Tampa, and Atlanta, including portfolio management, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, mortgage production, and workouts. Prior to his current position, he was responsible for MetLife’s $36 billion commercial mortgage portfolio.
Before joining MetLife, Mr. Wilsmann was a vice president with TRAVCO, a North Carolina-based hospitality development firm.
