MetLife has received regulatory approval to change the name of The Travelers Insurance Company to MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut and The Travelers Life and Annuity Company to MetLife Life and Annuity Company of Connecticut. The effective date of this change is May 1, 2006.
On December 7, 2007, MetLife Life and Annuity Company of Connecticut (MLAC) merged into MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut (MIC). As a result, all MLAC obligations have become obligations of MIC.
