NEW YORK, February 12, 2014 – To help financial professionals better explain the benefits of whole life insurance products to clients, MetLife today introduced Whole Life Up Close—a new interactive, tablet-friendly application. The innovative app allows agents and advisors to use case studies that mirror clients’ particular situations to clearly demonstrate how whole life insurance policies may benefit clients based on their specific financial needs.

“Whole Life Up Close offers a more dynamic approach to consumer education than static printed product materials and policy illustration ledgers,” says Matt Quale, vice president of U.S. Retail Marketing for MetLife. “Through its interactive capabilities, the app allows financial professionals to bring their conversations with clients to life by showing how whole life products can help clients meet their individual financial goals.”

Given the complexity of whole life products, especially regarding their ability to accrue cash value and their potential to pay dividends, MetLife recognized a need in the marketplace to develop a tool that would enable financial professionals to clearly articulate the products’ features. By using real-life scenarios to demonstrate how such products work, Whole Life Up Close is designed to make it easier for consumers to appreciate the benefits of participating whole life insurance.
