As a company that is regularly recognized on GI Jobs’ Military Friendly Employers list, MetLife does more than simply welcome veterans to our team. We take a focused approach to hiring individuals whose specific talents and goals have proven successful in growing business areas, and we provide targeted training to help them advance over the long term.

 

MetLife’s Military Veterans Network (MVET) is an employee-founded and employee-run diversity business resource network that is open to all colleagues who are passionate about advocating for veterans. Members donate their time to promote the goals of attracting, developing and retaining military veterans at MetLife, as well as building a working culture that truly values veterans and their contributions. To date, MVET has several regional chapters in locations throughout the country.

 

 

Through various funding programs, projects and grants, MetLife is able to assist veterans and their families while building a national community that goes beyond our workplace, from helping host events for the Wounded Warrior Project to helping rebuild computers for children of veterans. Here are some other ways we contribute:

  • Blue Star Museums – From Memorial Day to Labor Day, military families enjoy free admission to over 900 participating museums through the help of grants from MetLifeFoundation and other organizations.
  • National Organization on Disability (NOD) – MetLife supports Wounded Warrior Careers, a collaborative effort between the U.S. Army and NOD that provides intensive career guidance to severely injured soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
  • Reach Out and Read – A MetLife grant is helping this organization bring new books and developmental literary guidance to over 10,000 military families nationwide.
