Head of Developed Markets Investment Grade Fixed Income

Robert Vanden Assem, CFA, is head of Developed Markets Investment Grade Fixed Income at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). Robert joined MIM in December 2025, in connection with the acquisition of PineBridge Investments by MIM.

As managing director and head of PineBridge Investments’ Developed Markets Investment Grade Fixed Income team, Robert was responsible for the management of high-grade institutional and retail fixed income portfolios. Previously, Robert worked at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Advisors as a portfolio manager for the MSDW Strategist and Variable Strategist mutual funds, in addition to other institutional and individual fixed income assets. He also managed institutional and individual monies exclusively at Dean Witter InterCapital, the precursor to MSDW Advisors.

Robert received a BS in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MBA in finance from New York University. He is a CFA® charterholder.
