MetLife’s 2017 Pension Risk Transfer Poll was conducted by MMR Research Associates, Inc. in partnership with Strategic Insight. The Poll included 129 defined benefit (DB) pension plan sponsors, and sought to: assess the current pension risk transfer (PRT) landscape, including intentions with regard to PRT and catalysts driving PRT to an insurer; understand sponsors’ knowledge about and interest in flexible transaction structures; and, probe on sponsors’ expectations for the 2017 level of PRT activity.
MetLife's 2017 Paycheck or Pot of Gold StudySM was conducted by Harris Poll among more than 700 defined benefit and defined contribution plan participants to examine individuals' decision-making process and experience when it comes to choosing between guaranteed income payments or a one-time lump sum payment from a workplace retirement plan.
MetLife's 2016 Lifetime Income Poll assessed defined contribution (DC) plan sponsors familiarity with – and knowledge about – regulatory developments by the U.S. Departments of Labor and Treasury to strengthen retirement security among U.S. workers. It also gauged how these plan sponsors view the role of DC plans in the provision of retirement income.
