For purposes of this study, a retirement income culture is defined as one which places a balanced emphasis on retirement savings and retirement income.
MetLife's 2013 U.S. Pension Risk Behavior IndexSM (U.S. PRBI)SM measures large plan sponsors' aptitude for managing - and attitudes about - 18 investment, liability and business risks to which their plans are exposed. The study consists of two parts: an Index, which measures the extent to which plan sponsors are managing the risks they believe are most important, and an analysis, which examines patterns and inter-relationships between risk attitudes and behaviors.
MetLife's 2013 Stable Value StudySM is a biennial study to gain insight into - and understand trends related to - the changing landscape of stable value wrap products, among both stable value fund providers and plan sponsors. The study consists of stable value fund provider interviews on topics such as the perceived value of various wrap features, the prevalence of various provisions in the current marketplace and the nature and degree of plan sponsor communication and disclosure practices about contract features in ongoing plans; the plan sponsor survey gauged plan sponsors' awareness of, and understanding about, stable value fund structures and the relationships they have with their stable value fund providers.
