I want to know more about MetLife Rapid Term life insurance
What kind of insurance is MetLife Rapid Term?

MetLife Rapid Term (MRT) is term life insurance.  You select your coverage amount and an initial term length (e.g. 10 years, 20 years), and your premium—the price you pay for your insurance—stays the same throughout that initial term.

Can I buy a policy for someone else?

No.  Each owner/insured needs to apply for his or her own policy either online or by calling 1-800-249-4780.

Do I have to take a medical exam?

No.  Medical exams are not required for MetLife Rapid Term, just a few health questions to answer.  We use a system of databases to verify your health information.  This helps us give you a competitive price for your coverage.

Will the price I pay ever go up?

Not during your initial term.  The price you pay (which we call the premium) will remain the same for the length of time you select when you purchase the policy.

What happens at the end of my initial term?

After the initial term, we automatically renew your policy on an annual basis until you reach age 95.  The premiums will be higher after your initial term, so be sure to get the term you want now.

When will my coverage start?

Coverage begins as soon as your application is approved and we process your first payment.

The ‘term length’ refers to the time frame in which the policy rates will not go up (level premium period). Significantly increased premiums are necessary to renew the policy after the end of the level premium period. Premiums will increase on an annual basis after the level premium period. This policy is renewable to age 95.
