James Jakeman is Senior Partner and Investment Committee Member, Benson Elliot at MetLife Investment Management (MIM).

James has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and co-led responsibility for all investment teams at PineBridge, having previously led Benson Elliot’s UK and Irish coverage. During his career, James has led equity, mezzanine, and senior financing transactions across retail, office, industrial, and residential assets primarily in the UK, Scandinavia, and Central Europe. Before joining Benson Elliot, James was a managing director and head of UK Real Estate Finance at Société Générale, following eight years at Lehman Brothers where he served as executive director on the real estate principal investments team. James began his real estate career in 1995 at Jones Lang LaSalle.

James holds a BSc Honors in property valuation and finance from CASS Business School and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

James joined MetLife Investment Management (MIM) in December 2025 following MIM's acquisition of PineBridge Investments.
