Vladimir Karlov
Vladimir Karlov is a Managing Director and Head of Quantitative Portfolio Managemen at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). Vladimir joined MIM in December 2025, in connection with the acquisition of PineBridge Investments by MIM.
Most recently, Vladimir was a managing director and head of Quantitative Portfolio Management on PineBridge’s Fixed Income team, where he was responsible for managing preferred equity portfolios. Additionally, Vladimir was engaged in asset allocation decisions, asset-liability management, liability-driven investments, and execution of structured and derivatives transactions.
Previously, Vladimir was a consultant in the Financial Risk Management Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in New York. At PwC, Vladimir worked with banks, investment management companies, mortgage companies, and government agencies on a wide variety of risk management projects.
Vladimir earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science with Honors in applied mathematics and cybernetics at Moscow State University in Russia and a Doctor of Science in operations research from George Washington University.
