ASIA EQUITIES

Asia equities: riding the regional growth wave

We believe the region’s promising outlook and strong growth momentum, with a mix of both emerging and developed economies, bode well for active equity investors. Our approach in Asia is anchored on finding quality, tapping mispriced opportunities and spotting emerging trends before they become widely known.

A deep heritage of high-conviction investing in Asia equity

Sourcing alpha requires a deep understanding of the nuances of each local economy and business landscape, along with acute awareness of on-the-ground developments. With a presence in the region dating back to 1998, we offer deep, well-established access to local markets and management teams. Each year, our professionals conduct more than 1,000 direct company engagements through site visits, management meetings and industry conferences, offering a real time perspective on corporate developments and market dynamics.

From broad regional to market-specific strategies, our on-the-ground teams located across Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan focus on uncovering those rare investment opportunities that can generate long-term alpha—before the market realizes their worth.

Our Lifecycle Categorization Research framework

Rather than analyzing companies based on their membership in a particular sector or industry, we segment the investment universe into six types of companies based on their maturity and cyclicality. We assess which lifecycle category a company is in today and where we expect it will be in the future, comparing our view to the market’s view—a process we believe results in stronger and more consistent analytical insights into a stock’s attractiveness and valuation.
