Head of Institutional Client Group - Real Estate
Lou Jug is Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Group - Real Estate for MetLife Investment Management since March 2013. Mr. Jug is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and is integrally involved in product development as a member of the MIM New Product Committee.
Mr. Jug is a senior asset management executive with more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry. He joined MetLife from the Fortress Investment Group where he was a Managing Director and a member of the firm's Capital Foundation Group located in San Francisco, CA. Prior to Fortress, he was a managing director at ING Clarion Partners for ten years, where he was a member of the firm's Management Committee and Global Marketing Committee. Before joining ING, Lou served for four years as senior principal investment officer at the California Public Employee's Retirement System, the largest public pension fund in the U.S., where he was part of the leadership team that restructured the CalPERS' real estate portfolio.
Mr. Jug holds a BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He is an active member in the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). He is a licensed real estate broker in California, and holds Series 7, 24 & 63 securities licenses.
