R. Steven Taylor

R. Steven Taylor, CFA, is a Director and Head of the Washington, D.C. Regional Office. He oversees a $4.1 billion commercial mortgages and equity real estate portfolio. Before stepping into this role in 2012, Mr. Taylor served for seven years as the region's debt team leader responsible for commercial mortgage investments in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Under his leadership, the debt team originated over $5.4 billion in commercial mortgages. Prior to joining MetLife in 2005, Mr. Taylor was a Director in the Multifamily Division of Freddie Mac where he was responsible for originating and managing revolving credit facilities and acquisition lines for large institutional investors and public and private REITs. His 20-year career in real estate investments also includes serving as a Vice President with L.J. Melody & Company and working as an Underwriter and Portfolio Manager in the Commercial Mortgage Investment Unit of Allstate Insurance Company. Mr. Taylor earned a BS in Building Construction and an MBA from Texas A&M University, as well as an MS in Real Estate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
