The South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) contracts with MetLife to provide and administer the life insurance benefits for state employees and their covered dependents.

Eligible, newly hired employees can enroll in life insurance within 31 days from their date of hire. Employees can apply throughout the year or within 31 days of a special eligibility situation.
