Life claims

If you pass away, we want to ensure your beneficiary or family can easily navigate the claims process during a difficult time. This email outlines what they need to know and do to file a claim with MetLife Worldwide Benefits.

How to get started

For Life claims, your employer or beneficiary should submit a claim to MetLife. The first part of the claim form needs to be filled out by the policyholder (employer) and the second, by the beneficiary. Typically the employer will start this process.

If you pass away, your employer or beneficiary should submit a claim to MetLife. Here’s what they’ll need:

Once the claim is submitted:

1. Processing – We review the claim. If additional information is needed, we’ll contact the submitter. Our goal is to process claims within 10 business days once all documentation is received.

2. Confirmation – The submitter will receive an email once the claim is finalized.

3. Payment – Funds are issued based on the preferences in the Reimbursement Form. Timing may vary depending on banking systems, especially for international payments. We’ll check in afterwards to make sure your beneficiary has received payment.
