Spouse AD&D Schedule of Benefits

Details on your Spouse AD&D benefit can be found in your AD&D Schedule of Benefits, which will list the benefit along with the benefit amount and highlights. Spouse AD&D amounts are listed in their own table called “Accidental Death And Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) On Your Insured Dependents,” which appears after the table on your AD&D insurance benefits. Your Spouse AD&D amount is typically the same as your AD&D amount.

Calculating spouse AD&D rates

Spouse AD&D monthly rates are usually per $1,000 of insurance.

To calculate cost, multiply the cost per $1,000 by the number of units selected. For example, to figure out the monthly cost for $100,000 in coverage, you would multiply the rate based on your age by 100 ($1,000 units).

Ask your employer what your rates are for any supplemental coverages MetLife offers.

How to submit a Spouse AD&D insurance claim

In the event of an accidental death, the AD&D claim will be paid automatically with the Spouse Life insurance claim, so there are no additional steps required for you. In the event of a dismemberment, you or your spouse will need to submit a claim to MetLife for payment.
