More than 25-year industry expert to lead sales and investment product management

NEW YORK, August 08, 2007

MetLife announced today that John J. Brett joined the company to lead sales and investment product management for the MetLife Broker Dealer group, a unit at MetLife that serves the company’s 13,000 registered representatives in its affiliated broker-dealers.

Before joining MetLife, Brett headed U.S. Private Client Distribution for BlackRock, where he was responsible for National Accounts and drove the integration of Merrill Lynch investment managers and legacy BlackRock into the retail broker-dealer client base. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Strategic Relationships and Director of Strategic Advisory Group for Lord Abbett, and held a number of key distribution roles at Merrill Lynch, where he began his career in 1980.
