METLIFE ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF ITS MANAGED DENTAL PRODUCTS IN NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY

MetLife, a provider of dental plan administration for over 19 million people, announced today the expansion of its Dental HMO/Managed Care plans into New York and New Jersey, increasing choices for lower cost – higher coverage plan designs for employers. These managed dental products offer a cost-effective solution for providing employees a valued benefit that can aid in addressing loyalty and retention goals while also addressing the oral health needs of employees and their families. These new products are available to employers with 2 or more eligible lives.

The new managed offerings provide comprehensive dental coverage and feature no claim forms, no deductibles, no calendar year maximums, and an easy-to-understand schedule of benefits. They offer coverage for more than 400 dental and oral health services, including implants, veneers, white fillings, and general anesthesia, as well as a broad range of necessary diagnostic, restorative, surgical and periodontal procedures. In addition to these features, the plans provide employees access to a rapidly growing network of participating dentists and specialty care providers.

“Our research finds that employees rank dental benefits among their most valuable benefits, and MetLife’s managed dental care products are designed to offer a budget friendly benefit option for both employers and employers that incorporates the most up-to-date research and best practices in dental care,” says Alan Hirschberg, vice president, MetLife Dental & Vision Products. “We are excited about introducing this new product option to complement our Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) plan to New York and New Jersey employers and their employees.”

Employees participating in the plan have access to educational tools and resources that will help them make informed choices about their oral health. The plans include both co-pay and coinsurance options and will be available as a stand-alone product or as a dual-option combination with the MetLife Dental Preferred Provider Organization. MetLife currently offers Dental HMO/Managed Care plans in California, Florida and Texas. For more information about these plans, visit www.metlife.com/dental.
