METLIFE NAMES LOUIS JUG AS HEAD OF INVESTOR SERVICES FOR METLIFE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that Louis Jug has joined the company as managing director and head of investor services for MetLife Investment Management, LLC (“MIM”), the company’s institutional investment manager.

MIM, through its divisions including MetLife Real Estate Investors and MetLife Private Capital Investors, provides investment management services in asset sectors including real estate equity, commercial mortgages, private securities and infrastructure debt. The business focuses on creating investment opportunities that can generate attractive, long-term returns for institutional investors, including public and private pension funds, insurance companies, banks and sovereign wealth funds.

In his new role, Jug will be responsible for client relations, product development and capital raising across MIM’s asset sectors. He joins MetLife from Fortress Investment Group where he was a managing director and a member of the firm’s Capital Foundation Group. Prior to Fortress, Jug was managing director at ING Clarion Partners for 10 years, where he was a member of the firm’s management committee and global marketing committee. Prior to ING Clarion, Jug was senior principal investment officer at the California Public Employee’s Retirement System, the largest public pension fund in the U.S., where he led the restructure of CALPERS’ real estate portfolio.

“We are excited to have Lou join our team,” said Steven Goulart, executive vice president and chief investment officer for MetLife and CEO of MIM. “He will bring strong leadership to our client service activities, with proven business acumen, strategic perspective, deep transactional experience and broad industry relationships. His extensive prior asset management experience as well as his prior role managing the assets of a large pension fund will complement our existing investment expertise and talent as we grow MIM’s institutional asset management business. Lou’s appointment underscores our commitment to hiring the highest caliber talent to build a world-class asset management business for MetLife.”

Jug is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, and is a 1982 graduate of the University of California Berkeley.
