METLIFE NAMES NANCY DAVENPORT TO LEAD GOVERNMENT RELATIONS IN NEW YORK STATE

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that Nancy Davenport, a vice president in the company’s government relations and public policy department, has assumed new responsibilities leading government relations with New York State, including all legislative and regulatory matters. Davenport reports to Heather Wingate, vice president and head of U.S. government relations for MetLife.

Davenport, who joined MetLife in 2011 from New York Life, had been responsible for government relations in Delaware, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Alaska, Nevada, Oregon, and Puerto Rico. She also represented MetLife at the state government level on a wide variety of issues, including long term care and the company’s decision to relocate certain parts of the business to North Carolina. Davenport also managed colleagues with direct responsibility for government relations in 17 states.

Earlier in her career, Davenport oversaw New York state government relations for JPMorgan Chase and the American Council of Life Insurers. She also served as director for the Assembly Minority Counsel’s Office in the New York State Legislature, and as executive director and counsel for the New York State Legislative Ethics Committee. Davenport is licensed to practice law in New York and North Carolina.
