METLIFE SUPPORTS HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF EFFORTS

MetLife Foundation Announces $250,000 Contribution to the American Red Cross and Employee Match Program

MetLife and MetLife Foundation today announced actions they are taking to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

  • MetLife Foundation will contribute a total of $250,000 to the American Red Cross for relief and rebuilding efforts in the wake of the ongoing devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in the Gulf Coast area. In addition, MetLife Foundation will match MetLife employees’ contributions to the American Red Cross.
  • MetLife Auto & Home has directed additional resources to Texas to help customers impacted by this storm. Its National Catastrophe Response Team is available 24/7 to handle incoming claims. Customers should contact 800-854-6011 or Met_CAT@metlife.com. Customers do not need to have policy documentation. They can provide just their full names and addresses to receive immediate assistance.
  • The company’s catastrophe response vehicle is in the Houston area and commenced operations today in Humble, Texas, serving customers from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. The claim professionals staffing the mobile office will help customers secure shelter and guide them through temporary repairs. They will also issue advance payments using a stored value card or electronic funds transfer for immediate expenses and will promptly compensate customers for covered damage to their property.
  • MetLife and MetLife Auto & Home will extend the premium grace period for policy holders in the counties that have been designated disaster areas by Texas Governor Greg Abbott and will continue to monitor and take additional actions as necessary.

MetLife thanks the first responders and volunteers on the ground for their heroic efforts to provide relief to the thousands impacted in the Gulf Coast area.
