What is MetLife VisionAccess? Expanded Collapsed

MetLife Vision Access is a discount program that helps you save and stay on top of your care. You and your family receive substantial discounts on many services including eye exams, lenses, lens options and frames by visiting one of the thousands of participating private practice ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Do I have to visit a network provider to get coverage? Expanded Collapsed

Yes. You must visit a participating MetLife VisionAccess provider to access the program's discounts.2

How often should I have an eye exam? Expanded Collapsed

An eye exam is recommended every year. As a rule, you should not go longer than two years between eye exams. You may need to have your eyes examined more often if you have diabetes, hypertension or a family history of eye diseases, you had eye surgery, wear contact lenses, or you are taking medications that may have potential side effects on the eye.3

To locate a MetLife VisionAccess provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week, select Find a Vision Provider or call MetLife Vision at 1-800-ASK-4MET for access to our 24/7 Interactive Voice Response system.

Do I need to file a claim? Expanded Collapsed

No. Your participating provider will calculate your out-of-pocket costs at the time of service.

Do I need an ID card in order to use my benefit or discount? Expanded Collapsed

No. You do not need an ID card in order to get services through your vision discount plan.
